Zero Carbon City International Forum

As the world accelerates its efforts to achieve a decarbonised society, there is a growing interest in how cities, as the foundation for society and economy, are tackling climate change.

This online forum, held 17-18 March, aims to boost the work done by cities in their quest for net zero emissions. To this end, the Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (Japan) invited representatives from various cities and related organisations both in Japan and from overseas, so that they can share advanced cases and discuss necessary measures to strengthen city-to-city cooperation.

Speakers included the Governors of Tokyo and Nagano Prefecture, the Mayors of Yokohama and Kitakyushu and officials from the Kyoto, Kitakyushu, Odawara, Koriyama, Toyama and Saitama City Governments.
