JLGC takes part in the Efficiency Exchange

Coming soon, the ‘Japanese Experience’… for the week commencing 17th January 2011 the Japan Local Government Centre in London and colleagues in Japan will be participating in a week-long warmseat to highlight the experiences of local government in Japan during a crisis period.

Communities of Practice for Public Service, a community platform run by Local Government Improvement and Development supporting collaborative networks for those involved in local delivery, will be hosting a ‘warmseat’ featuring JLGC to present the ‘Japanese Experience’ as part of their series on ‘dealing with a financial crisis’ in local government. They have previously featured Sweden, Canada and the Netherlands.

Taking place over a week, it will be running from 17 January. We will endeavour to answer questions set by members of the Efficiency Exchange community and will focus on Japan’s budgetary crisis in the 1990’s and some of the measures used to address the resulting issues, including the application of lean principles and illustrated by case studies of two Japanese local authorities. Sign up to the Efficiency Exchange forum to take part in the programme.
