“Think SDGs 2021” International Conference in Toyota City

6 March (Sat) 2021, 13:30 – 18:00

Toyota City, Japan will organize the “Think SDGs 2021” International Conference in Toyota: Smart and Sustainable Communities with COVID-19 on 6 March 2021, from 13:30-18:00 (JST) online, commemorating its 70th anniversary of municipal administration.

How do we live in the world of a “new normal” with COVID-19? This conference focuses on Toyota City’s priority SDG fields (mobility, energy, and wellness) by introducing relevant cases in Japan and overseas together with various stakeholders.

The Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES) is a supporting organization for this conference and a researcher from IGES will facilitate a panel discussion on the “Impact of COVID-19 on cities’ environment and energy policies” (16:45-17:45) with panelists from Grenoble Alpes Metropole (France), Derbyshire County (England), Bandung City (Indonesia), Shah Alam City (Malaysia), and UNDESA.

(a YouTube recording of the event is now available on the IGES channel)
