This free event will bring together leading Chief Executives, LEP members and business leaders to share their experiences for building partnerships outside the UK to build local economic growth. Using Japan as the case study, speakers will share the benefits that have been brought by working with global business in the UK and building links with regions abroad.<\/p>\n<p>The event will be held on 11 March 2014, 10.00-13.00 (followed by a networking lunch) at Church House, Westminster, London SW1P 3NZ<\/p>\n<p>Speakers at the event will include:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\tHeather Jameson, Editor <em>MJ<\/em><br \/>\n\u2022\tDave Smith, Chief Executive Sunderland City Council<br \/>\n\u2022\tCllr Joan Dixon, Cabinet Member Jobs, Economy, Transport, Derbyshire County Council<br \/>\n\u2022\tJun Arima, Director General Japan External Trade Organisation (JETRO)<br \/>\n\u2022\tDavid Cook, Chief Executive Kettering Borough Council<br \/>\n\u2022\tRob Gorton, Toyota UK<\/p>\n<p>It promises to provide a timely opportunity for UK and Japanese partners to reflect and recalibrate their efforts towards providing long term partnerships and solutions, not only for economic growth, but also on connected policy interventions around the ageing society, smart communities and low carbon.
