{"id":11356,"date":"2023-05-19T11:20:45","date_gmt":"2023-05-19T10:20:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.jlgc.org.uk\/en\/?p=11356"},"modified":"2023-07-05T13:22:32","modified_gmt":"2023-07-05T12:22:32","slug":"u7-city-networks-as-part-of-the-g7-hiroshima-summit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.jlgc.org.uk\/en\/international-cooperation\/u7-city-networks-as-part-of-the-g7-hiroshima-summit\/","title":{"rendered":"\u3010NEW\u3011U7 city networks meet ahead of G7 Hiroshima Summit"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>As part of the UK&#8217;s presidency of the G7 Summit in 2021 the U7 Group of city networks was formed by Core Cities UK in conjunction with Japan&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.siteitosi.jp\/en\/\">Mayors Association of Designated Cities<\/a> (MADC) and other national city networks from among the G7.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.g7hiroshima.go.jp\/en\/\">G7 Hiroshima Summit 2023<\/a> is being held in Japan this week and has already seen the first-ever inclusion of subnational governments in the G7 process, <a href=\"https:\/\/g7u7.org\/news\/20230420-g7-ministers-announce-historic-commitment-to-work-with-cities-on-subnational-climate-action\">announced by the U7 last month<\/a>.
