CLAIR\u2019s mission is to support the internationalisation of Japanese local authorities through knowledge exchange and professional development.<\/p>\n<p>For more than three decades, JLGC has used its deep expertise and extensive international network to provide practical support to local government stakeholders.<\/p>\n<p><b>Our Staff<\/b><\/p>\n<p>CLAIR is staffed largely by officials seconded from local governments across Japan, as well as the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications. Many staff spend a year in Tokyo before serving for two years at one of CLAIR\u2019s overseas offices, such as JLGC.<\/p>\n<p><b>Our Region<\/b><\/p>\n<p>As CLAIR\u2019s London Office, JLGC\u2019s area of responsibility includes the United Kingdom, Austria, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Ireland, the Netherlands, Norway and Sweden.<\/p>\n<p><b>Our Role<\/b><\/p>\n<p>JLGC supports Japanese local governments with their internationalisation by:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Researching and sharing data on internationalisation and best practices in regional administration<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Providing insights into local governance systems and policy trends in Japan and overseas<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Supporting international exchange and collaboration between local authorities<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Offering practical assistance for promoting Japan\u2019s regions overseas<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Facilitating professional exchanges and partnership development<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>About Our Office The Japan Local Government Centre (JLGC) in London is an overseas office of the Council of Local Authorities for International Relations (CLAIR), a government-affiliated foundation in Japan.
